استقبل السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي اليوم أعضاء الأمانة العامة الجديدة لاتحاد الصحفيين العرب، وذلك برئاسة السيد مؤيد اللامي رئيس الاتحاد ونقيب الصحفيين العراقيين، وبحضور السيد كرم جبر رئيس المجلس الأعلى لتنظيم الإعلام، والسيد ضياء رشوان نقيب الصحفيين المصريين والرئيس الشرفي لاتحاد الصحفيين العرب.
وصرح المستشار أحمد فهمي المتحدث الرسمي باسم رئاسة الجمهورية بأن السيد الرئيس قدم التهنئة لرئيس اتحاد الصحفيين العرب وأعضاء الأمانة العامة لفوزهم في انتخابات الاتحاد التي أجريت مؤخراً، مؤكداً دعم مصر الكامل لأعمالهم وللدور المهم الذي يقوم به اتحاد الصحفيين العرب في دعم الصحافة والقارئ العربي.
ومن جانبهم، أعرب السادة الحضور عن تشرفهم باستقبال السيد الرئيس لهم بالتشكيل الجديد للأمانة العامة للاتحاد، منوهين إلى تقديرهم لمكانة مصر الرائدة في العالم العربي، ودورها السياسي الرشيد والمسئول على المستويات العربية والإقليمية والدولية، ومؤكدين تثمينهم لما يشهدونه في مصر من تطورات تنموية ملموسة بخطى سريعة.
وذكر المستشار أحمد فهمي المتحدث الرسمي أن اللقاء شهد حواراً مفتوحاً مع السيد الرئيس بشأن سبل تعزيز الدور الحيوي للصحافة العربية، حيث أشار السيد الرئيس إلى أن الصحافة عموماً والعربية على وجه الخصوص تواجه أوضاعاً جديدة فرضها انتشار وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي على نطاق واسع للغاية، الأمر الذي يستلزم مواصلة الصحافة تحديث دورها باستمرار والتوازن بين مقتضيات المنافسة من جانب، والعمق والموضوعية في الطرح اللذين يميزان العمل الصحفي على الجانب الآخر، وعلى النحو الذي يسهم في بلورة رؤى جادة وفعالة للتعامل مع التحديات المشتركة التي تواجه الدول العربية، وعلى رأسها تحقيق السلم والاستقرار والتنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية الشاملة، مؤكداً أن الكلمة مسئولية وأمانة كبيرة لتأثيرها في تشكيل الوعي العام والعقل الجمعي للشعوب.
كما تطرق اللقاء إلى الأوجه المتعددة للعمل العربي المشترك والتحديات التي تواجهه، وما شهدته الدول العربية خلال السنوات الأخيرة من تحديات غير مسبوقة هددت الدولة الوطنية ذاتها، ككيان وطني جامع للشعب يوفر له الأمن وسبل العيش والحياة. وفي ذلك الإطار أكد السيد الرئيس أن موقف مصر ثابت بشأن القضايا العربية، من إعلاء للتضامن العربي، وترسيخ المؤسسات الوطنية، ورفض التدخل في الشئون الداخلية للدول، مع الحرص الدائم على حسن الجوار وتعزيز روابط الإخاء والمحبة بين الشعوب العربية.
وتناول اللقاء أيضاً تطورات الأوضاع على الساحتين العربية والدولية، حيث أكد السيد الرئيس أهمية العمل العربي الجماعي في التعامل مع الأزمات القائمة، ودفع جهود التسوية السلمية لها، بما يحقق المصالح العليا للشعوب العربية ويحافظ على مقدراتها، لاسيما في هذا التوقيت الدقيق الذي يمر به النظام الدولي.
Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received members of the new General Secretariat of the Federation of Arab Journalists, headed by Chairman of the Federation, Mr. Moayad Al-Lami. The meeting was also attended by Head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, Mr. Karam Gabr, and Head of the Journalists Syndicate, Mr. Diaa Rashwan, who is also honorary Chairman of the federation.
The Spokesman for the Presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, said President El-Sisi congratulated the Chairman of the Federation of Arab Journalists and members of the General Secretariat on winning the recent elections of the Federation. The President affirmed Egypt’s full support for their work and for the important role played by the federation in supporting the press and the Arab reader.
The attendees said they were honored to be received by the President, with the new composition of the General Secretariat of the Federation, expressing their appreciation of Egypt’s leading status in the Arab world and its wise and responsible political role at the Arab, regional and international levels. They also valued the remarkable development progress currently taking place at a rapid pace in Egypt.
The meeting witnessed an open discussion with President El-Sisi on ways to enhance the vital role of the Arab press. The President confirmed that the press, in general, and Arab press in particular, are encountering new situations imposed by the widespread use of social media. He confirmed that this necessitates that the press constantly updates its role and maintains a balance between the requirements of competition on the one hand, and the depth and objectivity of the presentation that characterize journalistic work on the other. This shall take place in a manner that contributes to developing serious and effective visions to address the common challenges facing Arab states. This includes in particular achieving peace, stability as well as comprehensive economic and social development. The President stressed that the word is a great responsibility, given its impact on shaping public awareness and the collective mind of the peoples.
The discussion touched on the multiple aspects of and challenges to joint Arab action. It also focused on the unprecedented challenges Arab states have been witnessing over the recent years, which have compromised the nation state itself as an inclusive national entity for the people that provides them with security, livelihoods and lives. The President underscored Egypt’s firm position with regard to Arab issues, namely upholding Arab solidarity, consolidating national institutions and rejecting interference in the internal affairs of states, with a persistent commitment to good neighborliness and strengthening the bonds of fraternity among Arab peoples.
The meeting also reviewed developments in the Arab and international arenas. President El-Sisi stressed the importance of collective Arab action in addressing the current crises and in strengthening efforts toward reaching peaceful settlements for them. This aims to achieve the supreme interests of the Arab peoples and preserve their resources, particularly at this critical juncture the world order is witnessing.
