اطلع السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي اليوم الجمعة، خلال جولة تفقدية لسيادته، على سير العمل في مشروعات المحاور والطرق بمحافظة الجيزة، في إطار خطة تطوير الطرق الشاملة بالقاهرة الكبرى، التي تهدف لمواجهة أزمة التكدس السكاني والاختناق المروري، في ضوء ما كانت الدراسات المرورية العالمية المتخصصة قد أظهرته من توجه متوسط سرعة السيارات والمركبات على الطرق للانخفاض الشديد، بما يترتب على ذلك من أعباء جسيمة على المواطنين، وإعاقة لنمو النشاط الاقتصادي بجميع صوره، مما يُترجم إلى خسائر اقتصادية هائلة، تعمل الدولة على الحد منها وتحويلها إلى دفعة قوية وأساس متماسك للتنمية الشاملة، التي ترفع مستوى معيشة المواطنين وجودة الحياة في مصر.
وتشمل المشروعات الجاري تنفيذها في محافظة الجيزة، تطوير بعض المحاور الطولية والعرضية القائمة، وإنشاء محاور مرورية جديدة، بإجمالي أطوال ١٧٧ كم، بما يسهم في تحرير الحركة وضمان السيولة المرورية، وتقليل التلوث البيئي واستهلاك الوقود والانبعاثات الحرارية، وذلك بالنظر إلى احتياجات التنمية السياحية الحالية والمستقبلية في محافظة الجيزة، التي تتميز بالمناطق الأثرية السياحية الفريدة، على مستوى العالم.
During an inspection tour today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was briefed on work progress in axes and roads’ projects in the Giza Governorate. The projects are part of the comprehensive development plan for roads in Greater Cairo, which aims to address problems caused by overcrowding and traffic congestion.
This comes in light of specialized international studies on the socio-economic impacts of traffic congestion, which showed that the average vehicles’ speed on the roads tends to be quite low, leading to huge burden on the citizens and impeding economic productivity and growth in all forms. This results in formidable economic losses, an issue that the state is working on resolving, and instead turning into a vigorous momentum and solid base for comprehensive development so as to improve the Egyptian citizens’ standard of living and quality of life.
The projects underway in the Giza Governorate include the upgrading of axes and the construction of new axes, with a total length of 177 Km. This aims to ensure smooth traffic movement and flow, and reduce environmental pollution, fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, given the current and future tourism development plans in Giza Governorate, which is home to the most famous and unparalleled ancient Egyptian archaeological sites in the world.
